Wain Kellum, CEO
Mr. Kellum has been a successful CEO with six companies. Before leading Vocalocity, Inc., he was President and CEO of Omnilink Systems. Under his leadership, Omnilink Systems became the leading SaaS-based people tracking platform in the location-based services industry, growing revenue five-fold and achieving positive cash flow.
Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Trusted Network Technologies, where he led a turnaround of the packet-level security software company. The first company Mr. Kellum built, Extreme Logic, provided software for Fortune 500 companies; under his leadership the company received an investment from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), and was acquired by HP (NYSE:HPQ) in 2003. Mr. Kellum received a Masters of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, with honors, from the University of South Carolina.
Ann Pickren, President
Ms. Pickren’s experience spans the BC/DR, crisis management and supply chain management sectors, providing strategic counsel for many Fortune 500 companies. As President and COO, Ms. Pickren oversees global marketing and sales operations, including sales engineering, direct sales, OEM and channel sales. She also consults directly with customers to develop emergency management and business continuity best practices.
Previously, Ms. Pickren served as executive vice president at Firestorm Solutions, overseeing the development of business continuity and crisis management methodology and delivery of client services. She is known for her achievements at Comdisco and SunGard, where she spent a total of 17 years in various management roles. At Comdisco (10 years) she was focused on management roles in their business continuity and software product team, ultimately serving as SVP for Comdisco’s Business Continuity consulting and software products. With her transition to SunGard Availability Services, she served as the SVP of for business continuity application software solutions and consulting.
Ms. Pickren serves as a member of the USA Chapter of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP) and is member of the DRJ Executive Council. She holds her MBCI certification and earned her MBA from Georgia State University with a focus on math and statistics in undergraduate studies.
Frank Mahdavi, Chief Strategy Officer
In his role as chief strategy officer, Mr. Mahdavi provides comprehensive insight and understanding of market trends, changes and advancements. Mr. Mahdavi is also responsible for strategic development, knowledge of growing vertical markets and technology partnerships.
Prior to joining MIR3, Mr. Mahdavi was director of professional services at Peregrine Systems, helping to provide enterprise software solutions to Fortune 100 clients. Mr. Mahdavi has worked extensively in business and software development areas, including enterprise software solutions delivery. Mr. Mahdavi previously held technical positions as sr. engineer/scientist at McDonnell Douglas, Space Station Division, Northrop Aircraft Division, and NASA Dryden Research Facilities as research engineer among others.
Mr. Mahdavi holds a B.S. and an M.S. in aeronautical engineering from California Polytechnics State University in San Luis Obispo, CA and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Clifton L. McLellan, Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, Mr. McLellan brings 20 years of experience in high tech companies to the MIR3 organization. Prior to joining MIR3, Mr. McLellan held the position of CTO at Glynlyon, Inc., a leading provider of online curriculum and e-learning solutions for charter, public and virtual schools across the United States. He also served as vice president of engineering at GeoMark, a location-based services company, and as director of engineering at Enosys Software, an enterprise data integration company that created the Liquid Data product for BEA Systems, leading to the acquisition of the company by BEA.
Mr. McLellan also served as the first vice president of engineering at Reaction Design, the exclusive commercial developer and distributor of CHEMKIN, the de facto standard for modeling gas and surface-phase chemistry, and a leader in developing clean technology combustion systems and fuels for the transportation and energy sectors.
Mr. McLellan received an A.B. degree from Bowdoin College and studied ethics at Bangor Theological Seminary.
Cheryl Carmel, Vice President, Security
In her role as vice president of security, Ms. Carmel is responsible for developing, maintaining and continual improvement for all MIR3 security programs.
Ms. Carmel previously served as an information security officer at SunGard Data Systems, Financial Services Division, overseeing the security program for the retirement financial software and services business unit. While there, Ms. Carmel was recognized for her achievements in improving audit efficiencies incorporating the control requirements for FFIEC, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Security Trust Principles and SOC 1 financial reporting controls into a single flow audit process, integrating the corporate-defined application security requirements into the systems development life cycle, and ensuring international compliance for export controls and privacy requirements as the business grew outside the domestic boarders. Prior to this position she held a variety of security, technical and customer management positions covering her 18-year career at SunGard.
Ms. Carmel is a member of ISC2, where she holds her CISSP and participates in the Safe and Secure Online cyber-security youth education program; International Association of Privacy Professionals, where she holds her CIPT (CIPP/IT) as well as members of ISSA, OWASP and InfraGard. Ms. Carmel has presented at DRJ and Philly Women In Technology.
Maz Ghorban, Vice President, Corporate Development
As vice president of corporate development, Maz Ghorban brings to MIR3 more than 20 years of experience in the high tech and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Ghorban held various senior management and executive positions at West Corporation, a leader in technology-driven communications solutions, at Intercall, the world’s largest conferencing provider, and also worked for Raindance Communications, a leader in the Web conferencing industry.
Before joining Raindance, Mr. Ghorban worked at Contigo Software, an Internet communications industry leader, which was acquired in June 2000 by Raindance Communications (NASDAQ: RNDC).
Mr. Ghorban is a member of the San Diego Software Industry Council and also a member of CONNECT, a regional program focused on innovation and entrepreneurship in San Diego County.
Janice E. Hight, Vice President, Solutions
As vice president of solutions, Ms. Hight works with customers and MIR3 staff from areas such as project management, product management and engineering to address customer needs through the use of the MIR3 offerings. She is a multi-talented IT professional with over 25 years in software development, who has worked as a developer and product architect, development manager, providing client support and direct client consulting.
Suzi Nawabi, Vice President, Contracts and Corporate Operations
Ms. Nawabi brings over 20 years of experience in the technology arena to the MIR3 management team. Joining MIR3 in 2002, she has managed contract facilitation, licensing, trademark issues and negotiation for hundreds of complex customer contracts for businesses, government agencies and educational institutions.
Previously, Ms. Nawabi served as VP of sales and marketing for EDUCORP, a direct to consumer mail order software provider for Apple Computers, and worked at Embassy Graphics, a graphic arts service bureau as a consultant and Polexis, Inc., an information technology company servicing the U.S. government on R&D projects. Before joining MIR3, Ms. Nawabi worked at Contigo Software, an Internet communications industry leader, which was acquired in June 2000 by Raindance Communications.
Evan Sollberger, Vice President, Finance
As vice president of finance, Evan oversees the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of MIR3 and plays a strong role in setting strategy for the company.
Prior to joining MIR3, Evan served as CFO of AdvancedIO Systems Inc., a provider of ultra-low latency and high bandwidth programmable solutions designed to replace fixed-function network equipment for the finance, telecommunication, and defense industries. He also served as controller at Intergulf Development Group, a Vancouver BC-based real estate developer, and spent a number of years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he earned his chartered accountant designation in 2005. Evan has a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia.
Rebecca Wright, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions
Ms. Wright brings 20 years of technology sales and 10 years of enterprise sales experience to the MIR3 management team. She joined the MIR3 enterprise sales team in 2006 and has managed major accounts in the US and Canada, specializing in Fortune 500 and Global 2000 customers. She has particular expertise selling into the finance, defense, power and utilities, manufacturing, retail, food services, and education verticals.
Prior to joining MIR3, Ms. Wright was national account manager for major financial accounts at Emerald Publications. She also was the sales manager, and provided sales training for Fortune 500 investment and insurance firms. Ms. Wright earned a B.S. in Behavioral Science from Cedarville University and has held several securities and insurance licenses.
