In the first step, the notification alerts emergency services and first responders. Local hospitals are also contacted to prepare them for the incoming influx of patients. The notification then informs railroad officials of the situation and includes the option to connect to a conference call to establish press conferences and official statements.

EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE

X Mark IconSCENARIO: An airplane begins experiencing difficulties just prior to takeoff and must taxi back to the terminal in order to determine the problem.

Check Mark IconSOLUTION: An initiator launches a pre-constructed notification. MIR3's notification platform determines which maintenance workers are on duty and alerts them via multiple modalities to ensure immediate contact. Those responsible for scheduling are informed of the delay and alternate options are requested in case the plane is unable to be fixed in a timely manner. Baggage handlers are also contacted and placed on standby. If the maintenance workers respond saying they were able to resolve the issue, then all those initially contacted are informed and the notification is terminated. However, if maintenance workers determine that the plane requires extensive repairs, then the notification will escalate, and those on standby will be put into action.
